STERILE PREP MATS – PRINCIPLE

Sterile prep mats are highly absorbent, low-linting sterilised through gamma irradiation.  Absorbs spills and protect against exposure to hazardous chemicals or drugs. Constructed from a 3-layer polyethylene fibre blend. The top layer is a PE apertured film for even distribution of liquid.  The middle layer is a latex- free, airlaid paper for absorption. The bottom layer is a non-slip PE film which prevents any spills from penetrating through the surface and keeps the mat in place.

Designed for chemotherapy and cytotoxic drug preparation, ensuring a high level of sterility and surface protection. Gamma irradiated at a minimum of 25 kGy, the mat meets rigorous sterilization standards required in sensitive environments. Its layered construction provides both functionality and contamination control.

The top layer is liquid permeable and non-linting, preventing fiber shedding to maintain a clean workspace. Beneath this, the middle layer offers superior absorbency compared to standard low-particulate cleanroom wipes, effectively managing spills while minimizing contamination risks. The bottom layer, a non-slip polyethylene film, serves as a reliable liquid barrier, safeguarding stainless steel surfaces while keeping the mat securely in place.

Individually packed and wrapped in polythene with an “easy-disperse” feature, making it easy to open even when wearing gloves and without shedding particulates. The inclusion of a lot number on each package ensures traceability, supporting quality control and documentation standards. This mat offers a dependable and sterile solution for critical preparation tasks in medical and cleanroom environments.
